Centaurus High School Bands
Welcome to the home of the Centaurus High School Marching Warriors! We are an award-winning, 4A band program from Centaurus High School in Lafayette, Colorado. Led by Director Aaron Vogelsberg, the CHS Band program also includes Concert Band and Jazz Band, and competes in Winter Guard and Winter Percussion.
Happening Now
Marching season is kicking into high gear with lots of things happening over the next few weeks and months.
Band Camp
Camp is July 27 - Aug. 8 (no camp on Aug. 1 and 2). Camp is a great experience for students. The show starts to take shape and sections start to come together as a team. The students work hard but they have a lot of fun!
The annual parent performance and potluck is Saturday, Aug. 8 at 12:30 p.m. Check out the Band Camp page for more information.
Meet the Booster Board
Members of the Booster Board will be at camp each day during drop off. Have questions? Need to drop off a check? Just want to get to know some of the people you'll be spending a lot of time with over the next few months (haha!)? Stop by and say hi!
Buy CHS Band Swag
Show your Warrior spirit - purchase a band t-shirt and/or sweatshirt! New this year: long sleeved and v-neck tees! Order yours now through Aug. 8.
Marchathon and Virtual Marchathon
Virtual Marchathon is happening July 31 - Aug. 14. Students will learn more about how Virtual Marchathon works during band camp. Marchathon is Aug. 15. Remember, this is a required event for all students! We would love to have help from all parents, too! There are lots of opportunities and jobs available to help during our biggest fundraiser of the year. Check out the weekly parent newsletter which has all the info you need to sign up for a volunteer slot. You can also reach out to Holly Welty (hlwelty@gmail.com) with any questions.
Volunteer with the Band
We have a LOT of volunteer needs throughout the season. Many jobs are vacant from parents whose kids graduated last year - so we really need your help! Lots of open jobs were listed in the newsletter from July 20. You can also check out our Volunteering web page for more information!
Registering for Band, Marching Band, and Color Guard
Are you a parent or student looking for information on Marching Band and Concert Band? Wondering how to register for band next year? Marching Band is a co-curricular class at Centaurus High School. This means every student registered for Concert Band at CHS also participates in Marching Band.
- Generally, first year woodwind and brass members register for Band 2 (Symphonic Band)
- Percussion members register for Band 3 (Percussion Class)
- All Color Guard members register for Jazz Band (Zero Hour)
- Band 1 (Wind Ensemble) is available to students by audition only
Check out our Band Programs page to explore our curriculum.
