Centaurus High School Bands
Welcome to the home of the Centaurus High School Marching Warriors! We are an award-winning, 4A band program from Centaurus High School in Lafayette, Colorado. Led by Director Aaron Vogelsberg, the CHS Band program also includes Concert Band and Jazz Band, and competes in Winter Guard and Winter Percussion.
Happening Now
Welcome to Bandtober! We've already had a few performances at CHS football games. Our first competition is Legacy Marching Festival on Saturday, Sept. 26. Be sure to check out the weekly Booster newsletter(opens in new tab) with information about volunteering for events below!
Football Games
We have been having a great time at football games so far! The homecoming game against Mountain Ridge (Breast Cancer Awareness/Pink theme!) is Friday, Oct. 9 and kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. We still have lots of empty volunteer slots! Please sign up to help.
Legacy Marching Festival
We had a great time at the Legacy Marching Festival. We placed 2nd in 4A in the finals, and 6th overall. Way to go, Warriors!
Thank you to Torchy's for supplying tacos for dinner at Legacy!
Douglas County Marching Invitational (DCMI)
Congrats to the band for placing FIRST in 4A and 2nd overall at DCMI prelims. Great job! The Warriors did not compete in finals at DCMI due to the homecoming dance.
Monarch Marching Festival
Monarch Marching Festival(opens in new tab) is our last competition before regionals. It takes place at CHS, but is hosted by Monarch HS. This is a single-performance competition. CHS is scheduled to perform at 5:45 p.m. Lots of volunteer slots still available, please sign up to help!
CBA Regionals
Lots of information about the CBA North Regionals qualifying event is available on the Regionals page(opens in new tab). This event takes a LOT of volunteers to pull off - not including the volunteers we need to get the kids on the field. A few slots are still available for volunteering for the event. And the list to volunteer to help the band on and off the field is now available below!
- Volunteer for Regionals Event(opens in new tab)
- Volunteer to help the band on and off the field(opens in new tab)

Winter Guard and Winter Percussion
It's hard to believe since we are still in the thick of all things marching band, but callout meetings for our winter programs are happening! Visit the Winter Percussion page to find out how to get in touch with WP leaders if you missed the interest meeting on Sept. 17 but are interested in participating. Visit the Winter Guard page if you missed the Oct. 1 interest meeting but are interested in participating.
Volunteer with the Band
We have a LOT of volunteer needs throughout the season, especially at Regionals. Be sure to read the weekly Booster newsletter(opens in new tab) for details. You can also reach out to Holly Welty (hlwelty@gmail.com) with any questions.
Registering for Band, Marching Band, and Color Guard
Are you a parent or student looking for information on Marching Band and Concert Band? Wondering how to register for band next year? Marching Band is a co-curricular class at Centaurus High School. This means every student registered for Concert Band at CHS also participates in Marching Band.

- Percussion members register for Band 3 (Percussion Class)
- All Color Guard members register for Jazz Band (Zero Hour)
- Band 1 (Wind Ensemble) is available to students by audition only
